Four senior members of the Pharmacy Team have been recognised with one of the highest honours in their profession: Fellowship of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS).

The award-winning lineup consisted of Scott Garden, Director of Pharmacy, Melinda Cuthbert, Associate Director of Pharmacy (Acute), Katherine Davidson, Consultant in Pharmaceutical Public Health, and Alexa Wall, Associate Director of Pharmacy (Specialist Services, Innovation & Development).

Tracey Gillies, Executive Medical Director for NHS Lothian said: “Congratulations to all four members of our team for being recognised with such a prestigious honour.

“Their dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to excellence has truly set them apart. This recognition is a testament to their hard work and the high standards we uphold in NHS Lothian. Their accomplishments highlight not only their individual excellence but also the strength and talent of our pharmacy team as a whole.”

The Fellowships are awarded for distinction in the practice of pharmacy and is especially meaningful that this recognition comes from their peers and the respected panel of fellows.

This prestigious achievement places Melinda, Kat, Scott and Alexa among a select group of thirteen pharmacists in Scotland honoured this week by the RPS.

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society was founded in 1841, and is the professional membership body for pharmacists and pharmacy. Their vision is to become the world leader in the safe and effective use of medicines.

Laura Wilson, Director for Scotland at RPS, said: “Being awarded a Fellowship is a huge professional honour, and I am delighted that so many pharmacists from across Scotland working in a range of sectors and settings have been awarded this.”
