“It is with the great sadness that we have learned of the death of Her Majesty the Queen.

Her life was one of exceptional dedication to duty and she was quick to recognise the service of others. Throughout her reign, HM The Queen expressed her profound appreciation for the NHS and the commitment, professionalism and compassion of its staff. We were fortunate to welcome Queen Elizabeth to NHS Lothian some years ago, an event still fondly recalled by those who were in attendance.

On behalf of NHS Lothian, we offer our deepest condolences to His Majesty King Charles III and all the members of the Royal Family and express our gratitude for her life of service.”

Prof. John Connaghan CBE, Chairman, NHS Lothian

Calum Campbell, Chief Executive, NHS Lothian
