NHS Lothian is encouraging the public to attend the Health Board’s Annual Review.
The meeting will be held next week on Friday 30 October, with the community invited to attend the public session at 14:00 for an hour at the Edinburgh Training Centre on St Mary’s St in the city centre.
The Annual Review is the formal process where the Scottish Government assesses the performance of each Health Board over a 12-month period. This session will cover April 2025- March 2026.
The Review will be chaired by the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, Angela Constance. During the day, the minister will meet clinicians, colleagues, and representatives of patients, carers and communities, to hear about the recent work and challenges of the health board.
NHS Lothian’s Interim Chair, Andrew Fleming, will provide an overview of performance through a short presentation outlining key developments and plans for the year ahead.
Andrew Fleming, NHS Lothian’s Interim Chair said: “Our upcoming Annual Review provides a vital opportunity to look back at our performance over the past year, celebrate our achievements, and look openly to the pressures and challenges facing our health and social care system.
“We are looking forward to welcoming the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care and discussing our performance with her.”
Caroline Hiscox, Chief Executive of NHS Lothian added: “It’s really important to our health board that we engage, collaborate and learn from the communities we serve. I fully encourage members of the public to attend the Annual Review on the day and ask their questions. We’re keen to hear from our patients across the area; their input and feedback is essential as we continue implementing ways to provide the highest possible standards of care.”
