Congratulations to our very own Professor Juliet MacArthur, Chief Nurse – Research and Development in NHS Lothian and Honorary Professor of Practice, Queen’s University Belfast, for receiving the RCN’s top honour of being made a Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing. This honour is in recognition of her dedication, extraordinary vision, and profound impact on the field of nursing.
Alison MacDonald, Executive Nurse Director for NHS Lothian, said: “We are very proud of what Juliet has achieved both here in NHS Lothian and also across Scotland and the entire UK. She has proved herself as a beacon of excellence in clinical academic career development. Juliet has coached and mentored many staff over the years, empowering them to realise their potential. On behalf of those staff and our leadership team I’d like to say thank you, and congratulations on your achievement.”
On being named a Fellow, Juliet said: “It is such an honour to be recognised by the Royal College of Nursing in this way. Nursing engagement in clinical academic research is so important but sadly is often overlooked. I’ve been in the privileged position of being able to identify opportunities for nurses to get involved, develop their skills and to engage in research that has a significant impact on patient care.”
