The Scottish Hospitals Inquiry (SHI) is investigating the construction of the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People and Department of Clinical Neurosciences (RHCYP/DCN) as well as the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. The purpose of the Inquiry is to understand what went wrong with the construction of the hospitals so lessons can be learned to prevent the recurrence of such issues in future NHS construction projects.
The Inquiry Chair, Lord Brodie, has made clear that a priority is to understand the experiences of affected patients and their families. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week (3-5 November) families of NHS Lothian patients will describe how they were impacted by the delayed opening of the new building on the Little France campus.
You can watch the live stream of events, or catch up on the Hearings on the Inquiry’s YouTube channel and find out more information on the SHI’s website.
NHS Lothian will be giving evidence to the Inquiry at a later stage.
